Privacy Policy

Not medical care. CloudFridge is a kitchen inventory and meal-planning tool. Optional diet, allergen, and condition preferences are used only to filter recipes and ingredients. They are not a diagnosis, treatment, or substitute for professional medical advice.

Driftforge Systems ("we," "us," or "our"), developers of CloudFridge, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the CloudFridge mobile applications (iOS and Android) and website (https://cloudfridge.app/).

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: email address and optional display name when you sign in (via Supabase Auth).
  • Kitchen data you enter: inventory items, grocery lists, meal plans, preferences, and receipt photos you choose to scan.
  • Optional diet & allergen preferences: diets, allergies/intolerances, and condition tags you select in Profile — used only to personalize in-app alerts and suggestions for you.
  • Device / update data: basic app version and update channel info needed for Capgo over-the-air JS updates.
  • Website forms: name, email, or phone if you submit a support, waitlist, or account-deletion request on this site.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide core app features (inventory, expiry, grocery, meals, receipt import).
  • Sync your data across your devices when you are signed in.
  • Personalize recipe and ingredient warnings from preferences you set.
  • Deliver app updates, fix bugs, and respond to support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use diet/allergen/condition preferences for advertising, marketing, or tracking across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not use Apple HealthKit or write health data to Apple Health / iCloud Health records.

3. Sharing Your Information (App Store Guideline 5.1.2)

We share data only as needed to run the product:

  • Supabase — authenticates your account and stores your synced kitchen data (including optional diet preferences you save) on your behalf.
  • Food lookup providers (e.g. Spoonacular, Edamam, USDA, Open Food Facts, TheMealDB) — receive food or ingredient names you search so we can return nutrition, recipes, or product matches. We do not send your allergy list, medical condition tags, email, or account identity to these food APIs.
  • Capgo — delivers optional over-the-air app updates.
  • Apple / Google — if you use Sign in with Apple / Google, those providers authenticate you under their terms.
  • Legal reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; or in connection with a merger, sale, or asset transfer.

By using CloudFridge (and by acknowledging the in-app privacy notice), you permit these limited transfers for app functionality. You can use most kitchen features without signing in; signed-in sync is optional.

4. Health-Related Preferences (Guideline 5.1.3)

If you choose to save diet, allergen, or condition tags, that information is treated as sensitive preference data:

  • Collected only when you opt in by selecting tags in Profile.
  • Used solely to improve your kitchen management (warnings, filters, suggestions).
  • Never disclosed to third parties for advertising, marketing, or data mining.
  • Synced only to your own CloudFridge account storage when you are signed in.

CloudFridge is not a medical device and does not conduct health research.

5. Photos & Camera

Receipt scanning uses the camera or photo library only when you choose Scan Receipt. Photos are processed on device for OCR and may be stored in your Past Receipts history (local and, if signed in, synced). We do not use receipt photos for advertising.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access, update, or delete your personal data. In the app use Profile → Delete my account, or request deletion here.
  • Use most features without signing in (data stays on your device).
  • Clear local data by uninstalling the app or clearing site storage on the web.

8. Children's Privacy

CloudFridge is not directed at children under 13 and is not in the Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Tracking

We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising. We do not use the App Tracking Transparency advertising identifier for ads.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
